I requested a room on an upper floor, but I have been told by the management that I have a room on the 2nd floor. Has anyone stayed at this hotel? I have read that there is one room on a lower floor that should be avoided because it's small and very noisy. If anyone knows anything about this hotel I would appreciate it!

remember the second floor in Italy is the same as the third floor in the US. It goes ground floor then first then second and so on.
Pensione Guerrato is wonderful! We've stayed there twice, we liked it so much. It's a big Rick fave, and it's often where the RS tour groups stay. I seem to recall that their front desk is on the Italian 1st floor (our 2nd), so if your room is on the Italian 2nd floor, I think that's the same floor we've stayed on and the rooms weren't particularly noisy. There are some of the top rooms that are fairly noisy because they open out onto a piazza that gets an evening crowd, but close the windows and you're fine (they have AC). Do be sure to take earplugs with you, though, just in case this room or some other room turns out to be noisier than you'd like. Happy travels.
This B&B was the best we have ever stayed in Venice.Wonderful location, wonderful people...Close the windows and you will be fine.We were on the second floor and it was great.Actually I loved opening the windows to hear the chatter below. Have a great time. They know awesome places to eat.

The front desk and breakfast room is on the 1st floor (our 2nd floor). Our room was one floor up from that. It was a corner room overlooking the market. I did not find it noisy, but you could use earplugs if you are concerned.
We stayed there in June-on the same floor as the front desk and, we shared a bath. We enjoyed it very much. The room was quiet-except we could hear, with our window open, the music cafe two blocks away. The breakfast was very very good and the staff very very friendly. We loved being able to just step out the door and be in the fruit and vegetable market and so close to the vaporetto stop. We certainly would stay there again.
Thanks so much everyone! All your comments have been quite helpful! Only 6.5 weeks away!!!!!! Cynthia
GREAT place to stay! Very nice staff, decent breakfast, great decor... don't hesitate about this one!
Say Hi to Piero and Roberto. Here we are with Roberto: Roberto at Pensione Guerrato Piero is his brother-in-law. You can't miss him. He's got a shaved head and he's very outgoing.
