Paying hospital bill in Venice

Hello, currently in Venice and a member of our travel party fell and had to be transported to the hospital. Upon discharge we were handed a bill to pay at a kiosk. Every kiosk we tried didn't work and a hospital employee checked for us and got the same error message.
We'd like to pay but we were simply given an email to contact for help. Has anyone had experience paying a hospital bill in Venice? I can only compare it to the US where if I emailed someone to pay a hospital bill I might never hear back.

I can't help in the short term, but if you end up needing to pay the bill after you return home, check into the transfer service called "Wise" (formerly TransferWise). I haven't used it, but quite a few others here have used Wise to pay traffic fines or apartment deposits. Its fees are very low. Your bank might charge you something like $75 to transfer funds to Italy.

To pay Italian government entities most Italian government agencies use a payment platform called PagoPA. Most Italian banks offer the PagoPA service to their clients in their apps, but you can also make payments using a credit card or debit card. Most Italian agencies also allows to make payments using a credit card or debit card without even using PagoPA.

If you receive a payment notice when you return home, there should be instructions on how to make the payment. In many cases you should be able to pay via credit card. If not you can make a bank wire transfer. You will need the IBAN of the Italian entity bank to make that wire transfer. The IBAN is a 27 digit alphanumeric code to identify a bank account overseas (the US does not use that system).

If you send an international bank wire from your US bank it won't cost you a fortune.

Chase charges me $0 when I transfer money to my Italian bank if over $5000. The charge is $5 if under $5000.

Below are the charges by the several bank institutions in the US.

Your bank may not charge much for a wire transfer, but they may take you over the coals with the currency exchange. At least my experience a few years ago. But things always change. Just keep that factor in mind when you ask about charges. WISE is pretty low cost on both fronts.
