By far the Accidental Tourist is the best. I have done it 3 times and they pick up in Florence and take you outside the city.

Its small and personal and you are in locals homes. Really loved it!

I'll second The Accidental Tourist with Tara. April 2025, four of us were picked up just across the Arno in the Oltrarno district, by a young 30-something woman, and we were driven about 20 km SE of Florence to Rignano sull' Arno near Volognano, and visited a 12th century castle where they made wine and olive oil. Beautiful area, breathtaking looking over the Chianti valley. We walked around and did our tastings, (of course) bought some wine and olive oil. (An aside--it was shipped home and was so fragrant, so wonderful that we should have ordered twice that amount. By comparison...the wine was only fair!)

Then we were driven to this woman's family house up another hill close by, and her mother helped us make tri-colore pasta, focaccia and frittata, all with wine. Not anything earth-shattering cuisine-wise, but just a great and tasty day in a wonderful setting.

Don't quote me on this, but the entire 7-hour journey cost in the vicinity of 160 Euro/pp, not bad for what we got. I have heartily recommended The Accidental Tourist to anybody that asks.
