Check your passport expiration date as the US backlog for renewals is currently 18 weeks. To be safe, you should have an expiration date six months away from the date you enter Europe.

3rd active thread on the issue currently. Just renew it at the 9 yr mark and your all set--never out of date, never within the 6 month rule (imposed by some countries but not all).
