Passetto di Borgo

Has anyone visited Castel San Angelo and been able to go on the Passetto di Borgo?

Yes, we were easily able to buy tickets that included or excluded the Passetto directly at the Castel Sant’Angelo ticket office. There are specific time slots for the Passetto, so you have to wait for the next time. Our walkthrough was accompanied, I wouldn’t really say guided, by a staff member/security guard. He gave a few tidbits of the history, enough to make it interesting. I would do it again, though it is not nearly as interesting as the Vasari Corridor in Florence. We really enjoyed taking our time in Castel Sant’Angelo. We did the full bottom to top tour and had a drink in the cafe at the very top. We were staying nearby in Prati, so it was great to just stroll over, spend as long as we wanted, stroll to dinner and back to our apartment. I recommend this approach and will go back again.

Edit: this was July 2016. I haven’t looked to see if anything has changed.

Thanks, Nelly,

This is my third trip to Rome (this time as part of RS My Way Italy in June) tour, so I'm looking at some experiences I haven't tried before. Thanks for sharing your expertise. Now I'm going to go research the Vasari Corridor in Florence that you mentioned.
