Parma Things to Do

Headed to Parma for weekend and all we have planned is a food tour.
We do not have a car.
What should we do/see?
Thanks!

Parma has my favorite church interior, so be sure to visit the Parma Cathedral.

The Teatro Farnase is beautiful inside, also. Check and see if there’s an event there.

I wasn’t a big fan of the art gallery, but part of that reason was some of the special pieces were on loan out to another location.

Stop in to see the Basilica di Santa Maria della Steccata.

I liked strolling down Bargo XX Marzo and also over at Str. Luigi Carlo Farini.

Be sure to get reservations for restaurants. I like La Forchetta, near the cathedral.

See if the TI still offers a tour including the cathedral and baptistry.

Yeah on the La Forchetta reservation!

One activity I forgot to mention is the Castle of Torrechiara. I had looked into taking a bike tour out to it, but I couldn’t find one running the days I was in Parma. I know you don’t have a car, but you might want to find another way out to see it.

We recently spent a weekend in Parma and wished we had more time. The baptistery is beautiful. We enjoyed Palazzo della Pilotta which is a complex of museums -- we particularly enjoyed the Teatro Farnese and the biblioteca. We also had a lovely dinner at La Forchetta, so enjoy! Our second wonderful meal was at a restaurant called Ristorante Cocchi, a bit farther from the main center of town. Enjoy!
