Parma Hotel in Central Area

My wife and I are planning to be in Parma in late October and are looking for a hotel or B&B in town, and/or near the Duomo, as we will not have a car and traveling by train and taking some tours in the countryside for cheese, ham and wine. Recommendations are appreciated. Thanks.

Booking .com is a good place to research accomodations-
Use the filter for location budget, amenities like AC, etc.
You can book there or go to hotel website

Google maps is also good- just locate Parma Duomo then click "Hotels Nearby"

Thanks for the Hotel Torino recommendation. Maybe I should have been a little more specific as we are experienced travelers and have found many properties in Parma through various search techniques, but was hoping someone may have had some personal experience with 3 star and higher properties that are not necessarily chain hotels.

A few years ago a car failure put me to sleep a night in Parma, and the insurance company booked me a room at the NH hotel. As all the hotels of the chain it was fairly good, it is within walking distance from the center (but not a short walk), but on the other side it is really one minute walking from the railway station, that is a definite advantage.

I was in Parma last October with family and we did a wonderful cooking class with Stefania Bertaccini. Not sure if a cooking class was of interest to you or not, but she does also do food and wine tours of the region and even nature hikes in the surrounding countryside. Here's her website if you wanted to check it out: https://stefaniabertaccini.com/

Excellent suggestion with Stepfania Bertaccini. Thank you and I will do some additional research. Thank you.

We were in Parma in March and had a great stay at Palazzo Dalla Rosa Prati. I would probably skip the breakfast, though, as there are plenty of spots to eat nearby.

Stephen in Seattle, thank you for the great recommendation of Stefania Bertaccini for a cooking class in Parma. She was perfect as we cooked in her home kitchen in Parma and prepared the entire meal with she and her daughter and enjoyed the dinner with even her husband joining in as well. The real cooking experience that we were hoping for. Also, for a hotel we stayed at Palazzo Dalla Rosa Prati, right on the square with the Cathedral and Baptistery. Perfect location for anyone willing to pay a little more for the perfect location and someone who loves the European Cathedrals and art work.
