We will be in Parma area for two nights. Where would you suggest we do some tasting (cheese) and can you suggest any good resturants of local faire without spending a fortune?

Parma restaurant: Osteria del Gesso. I don't know about cheese tasting, but don't miss tasting the dry-cured ham for which Parma is famous.

There are free tours in English in Parma for Parmesan cheese, balsamico and prosciutto.
You might enjoy the Baratta Salsamenteria dining experience.
