We will be stopping in Parma for a night traveling by car on our way from Tuscany to Milan. I’m looking for a nice tour and tasting along the way. Has anyone done one they would recommend?
We visited a Parma ham factory this past August. We went to Salumificio Conti. It was a nice scenic drive from Bologna where we were staying. There are others (check website emiliadelizia.com for others). We were only 5 people and it was interesting and fun, not too long that boredom sets in.
I recently took a week long cooking class and we visited the Bertinelli farm to see how parmigiano reggiano is made and to taste cheeses. We visited early in the morning (we arrived about 7:45 am) which is when you can actually see the cheese being made.

I brought home some vacuum packed 48-month and 63-month parmigiano. I’ve only opened the 48-month so far, but it is delicious.
If you just want to taste parmigiano cheese and parma ham, many restaurants will offer these as an antipasto.
