Can anyone recommend a nice Cheese factory Tour in the Parma Area?

We did this one, but we were staying in Parma. The guide picked us up at our B&B. Went to the cheese factory, Parma ham factory, then a vineyard for lunch, and then Balsamic Vinegar house. Had a great time.

We were staying in Parma in March and did the same one with Laura. It was fabulous! Cheese, prosciutto, balsamic vinegar, lunch and a small winery! We had a wonderful day!

Depends on how much you want to pay. I researched tours heavily in the area and they all start around 90 euros per person with some charging 148 euros. (Some do require you rent a car some do not). I posted a thread to ask the forum about tours if you click on my username).

There is a company that will take you just to cheese factory for 30 euros a person. They have only 5 reviews on tripadvisor.

You are supposed to be able to tour cheese factories in your own in theory. However, I emailed two / only heard back from one and they only do groups of 8 or more.

Google the consortia as they will arrange a tour free. You will need a car and it must be arranged 10 days before. My 2 cousins and I did this, it was free, and one of the most interesting things we did in 3 weeks in Emilia-Romagnia. I posted the Web site about a month ago in reply to a similar question. Because it is a consortia, you tell them generally where you will be and they pick the caseifico (cheese factory). It's a 2 hr tour, that is at 8am as that's when they start the process. Fantastic time and pictures!

not just a cheese factory tour, but the BEST tour you'll find for the price.

My son and I did this a few years ago, and lots of other posters here have recommended Alessandro. He's quite the entertainer - tour guide.

You'll get cheese, balsamic vinegar and prosciutto on this tour...plus more food than you can shake a stick at. Well worth the 150E price.

Only issue, you will need to be picked up at a hotel in Bologna, so if you aren't staying there..you could email and ask how to join the tour. They picked us up at 7AM to drive to the cheese factory and we were back at our hotel @4:30PM.
