Rick doesn't mention Parma at all, but we're going to the boot for the cheese and wine and we just can't pass it up. Have you been? Any suggestions on cheese tours or places to stay? Thanks!

Parma is a food lover's paradise. Most guide books don't mention it so let's keep this just between the two of us! We stayed at Hotel Verdi in Parma. Website is www.hotelverdi.it. It's a good hotel, courteous staff. It's ranked 4 stars but I don't expect a US 4-star hotel as it's not that swanky. We will stay here again when (not if!) we return.
