We will be arriving in Venice in larger minivan (group of 6) for three days. Suggestions on best parking lots for multiday parking and transfer into Venice? Thanks, Matt
When you come into the plaza by the train station, the big parking garages are.on your right.
Be careful on the causeway as there are television radar cameras, and they will ticket you at 1/2 mph over the 35 mph speed limit.
It will be posted in kph, so keep it under that, whatever it is. Garage is expensive, but so is everything in Venice. From the garage, you can walk to the vaporetto dock, or if you have a hotel close by, you can walk from there.
A little googling might come up with a best price strategy. It is usually a trade off. The cheaper it is, the more inconvenient it is.
The limit is 50 kms/h on the causeway and they'll ticket you at 55, the leeway is 3 mph and something.
There are cheaper parkings in mainland Venice. If you are on a budget, the driver could take the group to Piazzale Roma Square (aka the "the plaza by the train station") and drive back to the mainland to park the car.
As you are going to drive in Italy I hope you know about camera controlled ZTL zones.
