In 2012 I was returning a rental car to Florence. I apparently stopped at the wrong place to use an ATM, but did not know that until I received two parking tickets in the mail about 6 months later. I ignored them. If I return to Italy should I expect to be detained at customs because of my outstanding parking violations? If I want to rent a car in Italy will these tickets be a problem?
