Any suggestions on parking our rental car outside of Rome, leaving it there for 1-2 nights, and taking public transportation in? We did this in Florence (actually parked on a suburban street for 2 nights)...last year.
I've heard of suggestions in Orvieto, and at commuter parking lots. Any specific suggestions?! Thanks!

Do you need to keep the car after Rome? It might be best to return you rental car upon arrival in Rome. A car is not needed in Rome.

There is a parking lot near Roma Tiburtina (which is very close the terminus of highway A24 (no tigh-street old-town navigation needed at all).
