I am going to Sicily in September. I would like to drive from Cefalu to Monreale and visit the Cathedral and then park the car somewhere safe and take public transit into Palermo for the day. Any suggestions on a safe and convenient location where to park the car ?

Don’t know of any parking since I didn’t drive in Sicily.
However, you may consider taking the train to Palermo (one hour travel time) and then the bus to Monreale.

Parcheggio Orlando in front of the Courthouse. Multistory underground pay parking. There are security cameras everywhere being the largest carpark at the Courthouse famous for prosecuting the most famous Sicilian mafiosi, but it is not guarded by parking staff.
If you have luggage it may be safer to find a private guarded parking. More expensive though.
