I will be traveling to Rome in mid March, will fly into Fiumicino in the AM, picking up a rental car at the airport. Our hotel is in Frascati (southeast of Rome) but we'd like to go to Rome from the airport. I don't want to drive in Rome, so I'd like to find a good place to park our car so we can take the metro/bus into the city. I see that there is a highway that makes a ring around Rome, this would probably be a good stopping point.
Any suggestions on a good place to park our car? I've read that there is a lot of vandalism at the metro parking lots, any alternative places to park? What can I expect to pay for parking for the day? I would appreciate a reply from anyone who has driven a rental car to Rome and parked on the outskirts.
