We are having a renewal of vows in a few weeks and would like to know where is thebnearest and best place to park, free or paid. I have mobility issues so I can't walk very far. How long should we anticipate leaving Chiusi to travel there? Need to make plans soon!
If you look on Google maps, there is a parking garage next to the basilica - Parking Tritone.

I saw that. Wasn’t sure if parking around this area is safe? I know it’s paid so that’s ok. Will check if you pay in advance? How much of a time allotted for travel from Chiusi to the Basilica on a Monday in this area? Is there traffic? Sorry for all the questions. Someone said to park by the train station by the colosseum but warned about gypsies? Too far of a walk? Have to be in church on time.
You can access this area only in the evening, Saturday afternoon and Sunday. Outside the limited area is parking Ludovisi https://maps.app.goo.gl/ob5krjurDyZu25s59- From there you can walk or take a bus to San Claudio/Piazza San Silvestro. Another one, but less safe (but ok during the day), is Borghese Parking https://maps.app.goo.gl/p26Nrbsx9X4AtR7N6, which has a pedestrian tunnel to Piazza di Spagna. It has also escalators to via Veneto and Villa Borghese from where you can take bus 160 to San Claudio.
Calculate 2 hours driving from Chiusi to Rome.
As Be_Rome indicates, there is a ZTL surrounding that area, meaning you can not drive to there outside of certain hours. Most of central Rome is a series of ZTLs, meaning that even if you had permission to enter that ZTL, you would need to approach it from a certain direction to avoid driving through other ZTLs. This of course does not begin to discuss the difficulties of driving in Rome.
Honestly, your best option would be to take the train to Rome, from Chiusi, then taxi to the church.
