We are traveling to The Cinqu Terre in September. We are driving down form Torino and staying for 3 days in Vernazza before we head south for a wedding in Mirabella. we have booked our hotel in Vernazza and made resservations for dinner at Gamberro Rosso. where can we park our car for the 3 days we are there?

Consider driving further south to La Spezia and taking the local train back north to Vernazza- it's only a 20 minute trip. Repeat this in reverse 3 days later. Have you asked your Vernazza " hotel " for suggestions regarding local parking?

If you're there weekdays in late September, there is a chance you can find parking in Vernazza. A smallish lot is at the top of the main road in town. You can also park in La Spezia or Genoa and take the local train into Vernazza. We parked in La Spezzia but weren't al all comfortable leaving our car at the station (loiterers, broken glass, graffiti - all the bad signs). I dropped the family off and found parking about a mile away across from one gate to the navy base. It was free and the car was in one piece when we got back.

A work collegue just returned from Italy and they drove to Vernazza and said the drive there was NOT fun. Very narrow and windy, making it difficult drive by oncoming buses or other traffic. And the drive took much longer than they thought it would. He said they would not repeat driving to Vernazza. Second hand feed back so take it for what it's worth.

We drive every year when we go with no problem. There's ample parking in Monterosso so we always park there and take the train to Vernazza. The lot next to the water I believe is about 10 euro a day and the other one is 15. We actually love the drive down, it's narrow and windy but the scenery and views are spectacular.
