Hello All,
Any good advice on where to park in/outside Siena in July? Just for a few hours? Have heard it's expensive and would love to find someplace less so. Staying in Sevicille and making a daytrip/eveningtrip into Siena to look around and perhaps get a little something to eat. Thanks!
Il Campo is about the highest point and downhill walk to the Campo.
Santa Caterina is good too. Escalators help.
Google parking in Siena to find the maps.
traci,
This may help http://www.discovertuscany.com/siena/tourist-info/parking-lots-in-siena.html
Here's my tip...get close to the city center and program you GPS to alert you to Parking areas. We had two cars two years ago and eventually found on-street parking behind a sports stadium. It took a bit of driving around in circles, but we made it.
I've also parked at the sports stadium. That was back before I knew better than to drive to Siena.
I could tell you a story about that parking lot, but I won't....
If you get there early you may find something near the train station, then take the escalator, taxi or bus up to the main town area.
