parking in San Marino

Hello, We are coming from Riccione for a half day (afternoon) to San Marino to meet our friends, who are also coming from other city. Where are we can park a car? Can we go way up on car?
Also can you suggest, what can we must see first and then have dinner in nice (not too price up to $30 per person, I understand with vine is extra) restaurant. Thanks a lot.

You can drive all the way up. There is plenty of parking. Sadly, the best food is probably the Chinese place. Unsadly, it's cheap.

Thanks Ed, What about small tour suggestions? If only 2 hours max, maybe go to San Leo?

The San Leo fortress is pretty good and I'd go there before San Marino, actually. I've only been to San Marino twice. The second time only because my wife wanted to see it. Roberto will probably stumble along with perspective that's much better than mine.

Yes you can drive all the way up and park. There's plenty of parking along the streets and a decent size lot at the very end. Parking was fairly cheap. The earlier you get there the better and it's not too far to centro. I would have to disagree about San Leo first though. While I would definitly suggest getting to San Leo if possible I thought the San Marino and the views were much better in San Marino.

Haven't been there for a long time, but I've been there often in youth (had a Sanmarinese girlfriend one summer). Inside the walls, on top of the Citta', it's a ZTL (always been). My strategy was to go as high up as I could, all the way to the Porta della Fratta (Fratta City Gate). There was a parking lot upthere, there still is. On weekends it was hard to find parking there, but if I couldn't find it there, I would come back down until I found one either along the road (they are all pay parking, even along the road, with blue stripes on the ground) or one of the lots in the piazzas along the way outside of the walls. So start from the top and come down until you find a spot. The higher you park, the less you have to climb on foot.
