We are driving to Riomaggiore to do the walk to Manarola then back. Is parking a mission in Riomaggiore? We are coming from Lucca.

There is a six-story parking garage in Riomaggiore. The following is part of a response from a poster on TripAdvisor. Riomaggiore has a paid 6 storey parking garage which is quite expensive-at least 20 euros for a 24 hour cycle. Plus, it closes at 7 so good luck if you want to drive anywhere along the coast at night. I ended up staying there the one night as I was too tired to park along the road. About 1 kilometer outside of town is a small, paved free parking lot. There are only about 10 spaces total. Then, you may park along the side of the road which is steep, high, and far, far away. Some B&Bs will offer parking on their premises for about 10E. For Riomaggiore, this is a very good deal.

You might want to consider taking the train from Lucca to Manarola. Cheaper and less problematic.
