we are traveling December 2nd ,I was wondering how crowded Portofino will be and will i be able to park there instead of going to Santa Margherita Ligure and bussing it.
There is a small parking area in Portofino, but a drop in the bucket compared to demand. What's the demand on December 2? As always - it depends. If the weather is good, why not walk from Santa Margherita? It's really pretty and not far; you can always take the bus back. https://www.apathtolunch.com/2014/05/getting-to-portofino-walking-hiking-and.html
We parked in an underground garage in Portofino , spent a few hours, and were very happy to return to Santa Margherita Ligure.
There is a City multi-story parking lot built not too many years ago, where I usually park nowadays when I go, so it’s not like in the old days where the only parking was on the Piazza della Libertà (which is now parking for residents only). It’s not cheap to park there (at least 6€ per hour), but all you need is a few hours to see what there is to see and maybe to eat at one of the exorbitantly priced restaurants.
