We will be spending 3 days in Florence late August staying at a hotel by Piazza della Repubblica and need to park our car before driving back to Rome. Anyone know of a secure lot to leave our car for 3 days that is close to city center by taxi?

Will you actually need the car in Rome?
Why not just return the car in Florence?

A car is not needed nor recommended in Rome or Florence. Unless you plan to visit the countryside of Tuscany in between, it is much easier to take the high speed train between Rome and Florence. The same is true going back to Rome. You don’t need a car. Even if you used the car to roam around Tuscany on the way from Rome to Florence, once in Florence return the rental car. Then after visiting Florence take the train back to Rome.
