I am driving to Rome from Ficulle (an hour and a half north) and need to know where to park (parking lot?) My cousin has a motorized wheel chair. We need to be close to the Vatican. I would also like to contact a private tour guide for the Vatican. I know I am asking a lot, but please help if you can. Thanks. Shari
A person that might know is Ron In Rome, you can leave a message for him at his website: http://www.roninrome.com/, or send him a message through this board by clicking on Send Private Message under his name, 3rd post in this thread: http://www.ricksteves.com/graffiti/helpline/index.cfm/rurl/topic/56105/atm-at-rome-fiumcino-airport.html
Thanks Kent... Shari, there is a parking garage on Via Tunisi, about a block from the Vatican. It is located underneath the Mercato Trionfale. From there, it's about two blocks to the Vatican Museums entrance. Unfortunately, you might not be able to go STRAIGHT to the Vatican entrance because there is a set of stairs you have to climb to get to Viale Vaticano. You may have to zigzag a block or two to avoid the stairs... but this is closest place to park - unless you get VERY LUCKY and score a parking place on Via Candia or a neighboring street. Send me a private message with your email address and I'll send you a few names to try for guide service. Ciao, Ron.
