Does anyone have any recent experience parking on a weekend at the La Spezia train station parking garage? We're going to be in the Cinque Terre at the very end of June for 3 days and are planning on parking our car there. We'll be arriving at the station in the late afternoon on a Friday and I'm wondering if I need to figure out a "plan B" in the event that the garage is full. Has anyone else done this recently and run into any sort of issues with finding parking going into a weekend?
Where are you staying during those 3 days? In which of the 5 towns? If I had to stay that long, I would want the car parked in the same town where I’m staying, if possible, and that is very possible (at least in some of the villages) if you get there before Saturday. If I have to stay more than one night, La Spezia would be my plan B.
Can you arrange your car rental so you turn it in when you arrive at LeSpezia and then start a new rental when you leave?
Saves you the cost and worry of parking the car and eliminates 3 days of rental fees.
Unfortunately the idea of dropping off/picking up a new rental is not an option.
Consider using the privately operated garage near the station. There's a link in the parking section near the bottom of this article: https://www.apathtolunch.com/2018/02/every-answer-cinque-terre-travel-guide.html
There are also two other garages, Kennedy and Europa, that are do-able especially if you drop off your baggage and passengers first. Info listed in this article: https://cinqueterreinsider.com/2017/07/16/parking-more-parking-garage-options-in-la-spezia/
