We'll be in Siena for four days, two of them on day trips with a rental car. What's the best place/way to safely park the car overnight without cost? We'll be staying at the Hotel Alma Domus.

I don't think non residents can park between San Domenico (basilica) and the hotel. The closest parking structures are at the stadium or at Fontebranda (then come up with the escalators). Either one charge 25 euro/day to hotels guests. If you want free parking, you need to park way outside the city center on the streets. But if you want close to the hotel, you must pay, or find another hotel out of the city center.
