Fly to Florence and rent a car.

The amount of time is all relevant to your interest in Paris. Some posters here who have been to Paris several times will say one day. Others will say one month because they cannot get enough of Paris. If you have never been, 5 busy days would give you a great trip to Paris. Depends on your total time available.

You cannot spend too much time in Paris. I could go for a month and be very happy. How long is your total trip? If you can spend 3 to 5 days in Paris you can see the highlights and that will just make you want to return for at least another week. Then one travel day to fly to Florence followed by the 10 days in Tuscany. If you’re flying from the US to Europe via CDG and you are thinking of a “day trip” to Paris - don’t do it. Just fly on to Florence and stay a night or two then get your rental car for your 10 days in Tuscany. Save Paris for a separate trip when you can devote a week or two to Paris, Versailles and Giverny. Plus a day trip to at least one of the nearby chateaux.
