Paris to Cinque Terra?

I am going to Europe this summer for my honeymoon and I'm wanting to know if there is an easy or direct way to get from Paris to Cinque Terra and then to Venice? We were planning on just going straight to Venice but I've been hearing so much about Cinque Terra that I don't want to miss it! Thank you for any suggestions!

Fly easyJet from Orly to Pisa. Take the train from the airport station to the Cinque Terre town of your choice. You'll have to make connections, but it's an easy ride. Take the train from your CT town to Venezia Santa Lucia. Again, you'll need to make connections. See the timetables on the Trenitalia site. To see regional trains as well as fast trains, enter a dummy date within the next seven days. There was major flood damage in the CT villages last year. While repairs are well under way, your choices of where to stay may be limited. If you decide to go there, book your accommodations now.

Mary, "There was major flood damage in the CT villages last year. While repairs are well under way, your choices of where to stay may be limited. If you decide to go there, book your accommodations now." It's important to note that the floods affected only two of the five towns, so accommodations aren't necessarily "limited". One of the villages (Monterosso) is pretty much back to normal and the other (Vernazza) is coming along nicely and is open for the season. The other three are "business as usual". I most definitely agree with Tim that it would be a GOOD IDEA to get some accommodations booked NOW!!! I usually start contacting Hotels in the Cinque Terre in about March for travel in September, and even with that much lead time, it's sometimes difficult to get a spot. For travel "this summer", you need to get on this NOW. Regarding the best transportation method, Tim's advice is spot-on (as usual). The rail trip on that route varies from about 10 to 17 hours, so an EasyJet flight is a far better option. Again, it would be a GOOD idea to get that booked SOON, as the prices tend to increase as the flights fill up. Be sure to read their Terms & Conditions carefully, especially related to luggage weights. If your luggage will be over the allowable limit, it's better to pay the extra charges at the time of booking. Paying at check-in is much more expensive. Also note that many budget airlines only allow ONE carry-on item of the approved size. That doesn't mean "one plus a personal item", it means ONE ONLY (and they will check). Congratulations and hope you have happy travels on your honeymoon!

Thank you both so much for your valuable information! We took your advice and booked an easyjet flight and made sure to check the baggage small print :) I really appreciate your advice because I had never considered flying. All of our hotels are now booked as well and we are ready to finally celebrate the honeymoon and travel around!
