My parents were wondering if going to the Hill Towns of Italy would be okay instead of going to Barcelona. We will be flying from Lucerne to either but want to to know if the hill towns are okay instead on Barcelona or 4 days basing in Florence. Thanks! We would fly to Florence and rent a car.

Of course its okay and if they ask my permission it is one of my favorite places in Europe. I would get the car at the airport in Florence and head for the hills and villages. Just be careful that you do not drive in Florence and rack up tons of fines for the dreaded zones. I like to stay in a village and take a day trip on a bus into Florence. I prefer the villages over the cities most of the time.

Do your parents have any mobility problems? Barcelona is mostly fairly level. The Italian hill towns are hilly. Either is ok with me.

What does "Okay" mean? It's sounds like you are asking for permission.
