Looking to travel from Naples to Parco Nazionale del Pollino in April of 2026. Wondering the best way to travel to the park, and how to travel while visiting the park. From briefly researching there doesn't seem to be any public transportation in the park. Also, looking for recommendations for lodging near the park for 3 adults. We're looking for the best way to travel from the park to Sicily as well.
I can’t conceive of any way to visit the park and surroundings without a rental car, just based on similar trips I have taken (not to Calabria). I’d drop the car before continuing to Sicily on the train, and do a separate rental there, if needed.
Thank you. This is what I was thinking. Do you have any recommendations for lodging in the area?
Booking.com is my usual go-to, the map function can help pinpoint areas to focus on. I also like to google and look for sources like blogs to read about others' experiences, which can be helpful for a less common area. Good luck--I hope to get there sometime!
Grazia mille!
