Papal Mass in Vatican and Schengen visa Question

Hello,

My family is coming from the Philippines so they applied for a Schengen visa in order to go to Rome and Paris. I will be meeting them there from the states. I created a 2.5 week itinerary for us wherein we will be arriving in Rome, then London then flying back to our respective countries from Paris. I worked the itinerary so that we would be able to attend the Wednesday Papal audience in Vatican on the first week. However, due to last minute changes, I had to move it up a week and now we ended up on a Wednesday wherein the pope is out of Vatican, therefore no mass. In my excitement of changing the dates, I failed to recheck the papal schedule. :(

I'm debating whether I should revamp our entire itinerary so that we will be entering in Paris and exiting Rome, just so we can attend the papal audience on our last week or (of course), I can just leave it alone and miss that for now.

Another concern is for their visas: will they be in trouble on the borders if they didn't follow the itinerary fully (flipping Paris and Rome)?

We would have loved to attend the Papal audience (one of our main reasons for choosing Rome) but if it will cause trouble for my family, we'd rather not. This is their first time in Europe too.

Any feedback or advice is greatly appreciated.

Thank you in advance,

Jhae

The Wednesday Papal Audience does NOT include a Mass.

Most here are familiar with the Schengen regulations as they apply to countries which have the visa waiver programme. Not familiar with the regulations for citizens of countries which have to apply for specific visas, such as India or your country.

Perhaps ask the consulate?

Thank you.

I've opted to just rearrange their itinerary and moved to Rome to the end of the trip so we can attend the Papal audience.
