Pantheon Tickets

Has anyone had success purchasing tickets on the museiitaliani website? I have tried 5 times with different cards and paypal, each time unsuccessfully.
I can purchase tickets from another site for more $$, but I was planning to use Rick Steves audio guide for my tour.
Thanks.

I had tried to purchase using a Bank of America Visa card and it kept taking me to a blank page. I found a tripadvisor discussion that suggested that your credit card needs to be enrolled in 3D Secure for it to work (mine isn't as far as I know).

I was able to pay via PayPal using the same credit card (I guess because PayPal does the necessary security validation). Not sure why your PayPal payment is being rejected.

The website lets you pick your payment processor for some reason, so you need to change the payment processor on the last screen to one that accepts American cards. So select the credit card option, then fill in your details, then where it lists the processor with a processing fee, click on that and change it to Nexi or Intesa San Paolo.

We went last week and had boy purchased in advance. While the line wasn't terrible to buy tickets (on the machine), I do wish we had popped online the night before and purchased the tickets a head. The line to pay cash or dk the tixket window was quite long and alow movong. There was no line to actually get in. You could just walk un once you had tickets in hand.

I was struggling to purchase Pantheon tickets too. My Amex didn't work, my Visa didn't work, my PayPal didn't work. Finally after reading this site, I was able to book with my Visa after changing the the payment processor to Nexi (Intesa San Paolo did not work for me). What a bizarre situation, but many thanks to Jeff for his help!

After 2 days of frustration unable to purchase ticket, I downloaded the Musei Italiani app. Purchased without problems.
Have to use the app!

I purchased tickets about 3 weeks ago but never actually received the tickets. Showed up at the Pantheon today and showed the guy the purchase receipt for the charge and he just let me in. (But I don't recommend it because he didn't have to.)

It was pretty crazy outside the site today with a long "buy tickets" line that did seem to be moving. The "validate on-line tickets" like moved quickly and by 15 minutes after the hour the line was all inside. Inside it was calm and not very crowded so the metering of tickets seems to be working so far. I had been before but I still recommend it because for all the hassle it is still impressive.

Good luck everyone,

PS Rome (and previously Venice) crowds are starting to swell on the weekends as Easter approaches.
