Anyone have any words of advice about visiting La Rotonda and Villa Valmarana ai Nani outside Vicenza? I was planning to go on Friday and take a taxi from the center of Vicenza. I’m set on going to the Rotonda, but Rick’s article makes it sound like the other is literally next door. Thanks!

We spent one trip visiting the Palladian villas in the Veneto. I recommend seeing as many as you can.

I’m seeing them both on a day trip from Venice in October. I have mapped out the walking distance from Villa la Rotunda to Villa Valmarana Nani to be 500 meters.
Don’t miss the Teatro Olimpico - that looks amazing also!!!

a taxi from the centre of Vicenza is certainly possible (as is city bus) but it is actually close enough to walk. I stayed with Bob and Jenny (and child) at Bob and Jenny's Bed and Breakfast - most excellent - which is an easy walk into town via an excellent coffee place, and if we turned 180 degrees and walked a short distance we were right at La Rotunda. So close.
Well worth a visit - to me.
another vote to consider seeing the Teatro Olimpico.
