Larry, For travel from Florence to Siena, the best option is to take the Bus as you'll be dropped in Piazza Gramsci, right in the middle of Siena. It's an easy walk from there to "Il Campo". If you take the train, you'll have to take a Taxi from the station up to the town. The Bus station is almost right next door to Firenze SMN rail station. As I recall, tickets have to be validated prior to boarding. I'm assuming you won't be travelling with larger luggage items, so you can take smaller carry-on items in the cabin. If you're returning the same day, be sure to note the time of the last Bus. Buon Viaggio!
