Palermo Tour to Corleone

I will be in Palermo in 10 days, 4 days prior to doing an RS tour of Sicily. I was looking at taking a day trip to the village of Corleone offered by the Addiopizzo Travel Company - has anyone done one of their tours? Any comments?

Josephine, I hope you realize that if you are going to Corleone to see the actual sites from the Godfather movies, it wasn't filmed there.

The real Sicilian venues where Francis Ford Coppola shot Godfather I and II were tiny villages up the mountain from Taormina on the east coast--Savoca and Forza D'Agro. Rumor has it that back in 1972, Coppola wanted to shoot in Corleone, but the local strongmen wanted too much money in bribes. So he went elsewhere.

We visited these medieval towns in 2010, through a tour by Sicily Life. It was fascinating.

However, if your interest is to see la familia, then buon viaggio!

Thank you, but my interest is not the movie, but the Museum there in Corleone that tells the real Mafia story of Sicily, and the Addiopizzo travel company is connected to the group of businesses throughout Sicily which have taken a stand against paying the “pizzo”, or protection money demanded by the Mafia. Hence the name, meaning roughly “Goodbye pizzo”. I have read that the museum is worth a visit.
