Palermo: shuttle bus or train from airport to city center?

Which is the hotel where the RS tour stays?

I was on the Rick Steve Sicily tour in May 2024. Outstanding tour!!! I rode the train from the Palermo airport into the city. It was efficient. I then walked the several blocks to the Ambasciatori Hotel. You could also take a cab the short distance.

Bus is quick, cheap (10 Euros) and goes to the train station in central Palermo. If the bus fills, another on shows up.

If the Hotel is the Ambasciatori, then it is located less than 500 m. (1/4 of a mile) from the Palermo Central station.

Both the train and the bus will leave you at the station. The time of travel by train is 34 min with the Genio Express, or 49 min with the regular regionale. The cost is 6.80€ with either.
The bus from airport all the way to the station takes 50 min. I think it costs slightly more than the train.

I'll add a tip. One of the track numbers is a spot about 150 yards down from the end of the two tracks in the station and not a separate track. Let's say the two tracks have the numbers 1 and 2 on them, then track 3 is a little ways down track 1. When we were there last fall the board showed our train was departing from track 3 and everyone around was confused.

On my RS tour some people took the bus from the airport, some the train. Nobody had any complaints.
