Palermo, Punta Raisi Airport Hotels

Believe it or not, it's actually much easier to spend the last night in Palermo proper, and take the early morning Prestia e Comande airport bus to the airport (first bus is at 4:00 a.m., arriving airport at 4:50 a.m.; next bus at 5:00 a.m. and thereafter every 30 minutes). The one-way fare is 5.80 Euros (pay the driver). Depending on your flight departure time, you could take either the 4:00 a.m. or the 5:00 a.m. airport bus. www.prestiaecomande.it Choose a hotel near the train station or Piazza Ruggero Settimo (Politeama Theatre), where there are convenient airport bus stops. This way, you get to spend a productive afternoon and evening in central Palermo, rather than making a very non-productive trip to one of the hotels closer to the airport, where there's nothing to do except eat dinner in the hotel.

Thank you, I was not aware of the bus at that hour. Since I am already booked into the hotel, might as well extend it one more night :-) Greg
