Hello all. We have 4 nights in Palermo in May. I’ve read quite a bit about unscrupulous taxi drivers so wondering about good private transportation from the airport to our hotel in the historic district ( Palazzo Napoli). Any experience to share or recommendations? Thanks in advance!

Yes, adjusting the meter, long hauling - taking an extra long route - etc.

We will be there in June and I weighed all my options per the RS guidebook on Sicily. We will be hopping on the train.

Thank you we did consider the train but a taxi or car service will be a better option for us. Hoping for some recommendations.

I have taken the bus at the link below to the airport from the Politeama area, which is a short walk from where you are staying. It runs every 30 minutes, is comfortable and costs only 6 Euros. It stops at several spots in the city, so there may be a stop closer to your hotel.

I was just in Palermo a few weeks ago. I flew in from Naples. I asked my hotel and they arranged a car and driver which I appreciated but it was twice as much as a cab ride. If I'd do it again I'd get an idea of the typical cost of a cab and just confirm it with the cab driver before I got in
