We will be driving from Agrigento to Palermo to see the sights for the day before continuing on to Cefalu where we will stay the evening and the next day. Is there a safe, public parking lot close to the start or finish of Rick's Palermo City walk (or near public transportation that can get us close by)?
Parking is generally very dispersed. You don't really see massive parking structures. Your choices are to find a spot on the street or use a private parking service/garage. You can google "parcheggio" near the locations you're interested in and see what comes up but I just used street parking the one time I was in your shoes. Coincidently it was just outside Parcheggio Centrostorico
Aren't you only gonna be in Palermo for like 3 or 4 hours? Is the juice really worth the squeeze? Maybe go to Cefalu first and fly out of Palermo after at least a full day of sightseeing?
There is a big underground parking structure at the Courthouse of Palermo. It has plenty of video cameras and surveillance since the mafia likes to blow up judges and prosecutors using car bombs, but I don’t know if it’s close to the walking tour you are looking for.

@Roberto - I didn't realize that parking was open to the public. I just thought it was for the courthouse because there are always policemen at the entrance. But absolutely that is conveniently between the market and Teatro Massimo. Plus there's a good bank ATM on the north side of the plaza if you need cash.
Thank you! That sounds great!
Yeah, I would absolutely recommend the No Mafia museum/memorial on V. Vittorio Emanuele https://www.nomafiamemorial.org
