We are departing from Palermo on Oct. 10th and would like to leave our rental car at the airport on the 9th and stay at a hotel on or near the airport. So far we have only found hotels off airport. Any suggestions? Thank you

There are none at the airport. There are a few very small hotels and B&B in Terrasini.
I would return the car on the day of departure. If your flight is too early in the morning and you prefer to ditch the car the day before I suggest you return the car in Palermo proper and stay in Palermo.
Alternatively, if you want to stay nearer the airport, the only nice, sort of “airport style” hotel nearby, although not exactly on the airport premises, is the Magaggiari Hotel. It’s a more upscale hotel but I don’t think it would be too expensive in October. Not sure if they have a shuttle to the terminal.

If you can drop your rental car off in the city instead of the airport, there is a bus that makes several stops in downtown Palermo and goes to the airport. It runs frequently. We stayed at the Hotel Politeama and the bus stops about 30 feet away from the front door of the hotel.

Thank you but we are nervous about driving in Palermo so that's we are renting and returning at the airport
