Palermo

We stayed at the Eurostar April 2021. It was literally steps from the Quattro Canti that is the center of Palermo. We walked everywhere. Palermo was nicer than we anticipated. Try and catch a puppet show and take a tour of the theater.

We loved our stay at Santuzza Maison De Charme in September, 2022. Santuzza Maison de Charme is a drop dead gorgeous restoration of an old building. Every detail is perfectly designed and every inch is beautiful. It is a pleasure just to enter the space. The location, right near the Cathedral, is central and convenient to everything in the historic center yet quiet and peaceful. The host was helpful and kind. His restaurant recommendation turned out to be the best food we had in Italy. The airport shuttle he arranged was great. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and highly recommend.

We stayed at La Terrazza Sul Centro. It was a smallish BnB, maybe 10 rooms. Great location. Wonderful people and breakfast. Absolutely amazing terrace with exceptional views. Very moderately priced.

We stayed at B&B Elvira Al Duomo in Monreale since we had a rental car, and took the bus into Palermo.

AK, the following was special indeed, so much so that we stayed there twice: Butera 28. That is the historical palazzo owned by the nephew of the author of 'The Leopard' (gattopardo). His lovely wife Niccoletta runs the show as the main property manager, and she also teaches cooking classes there. On offer is a wide range of nice apartments. We loved it.
The location is fantastic, close to key markets and also places to eat.
