Palazzo Vecchio Question

I am just about to purchase tickets for the Palazzo Vecchio Secret Passages tour...and my question is "do I really need a Video Guide Tablet for Palazzo Vecchio"? It's an extra €8,32. If I need it, then definitely I'll spend the extra but if it's really unneeded then I'd rather not.

I don't think it is necessary. Not sure, but I think we did take the audio guide, no tablet.

Hope it's o.k. to tack on this question to the OP's, but we'd also like to do the Secret Passages tour when we go in October. Is it necessary to purchase ahead of time, or think we can get in while we are there? Thanks!

I purchased it today ahead of my trip on April 10 through April 21...Staying in Florence April 14 to April 17. I figure it's kind of nice to have everything purchased and planned out but that's just me. I have heard that this tour does sell out or is busy at the door so that's another reason I booked it and also that I have my itinerary figured out.

There is a company called "The Great Courses." The company sells various videos including ones on Italy. We purchased and watched several of them. Obviously, the more history you know - the more you understand what you are seeing. However, Italy is loaded with history and it is easy to get "burned- out."

Wouldn't the video tables distract you from seeing the actual palazzo vecchio? My guess is that the video tablets shouldn't exist.

We are apparently planning to see the same sights.
My plan is to see the Palazzo Vecchio; is it worth taking a tour? Suppose I end up booking an excessive total number of tours for my trip? What is the difference between the "Secret Passages" tour and the "Tour of the Palazzo Vecchio"?
How long do you wish to spend in the Palazzo Vecchio complex? I couldn't figure out how to buy a ticket on the official website.
Why does the official website ask for a range of dates, or two dates, and then when I pick two dates, the message in English at the bottom of the screen reads,

No bookable activities
For further availability of guided tours and daily activities, also in other languages, please send a request to [email protected] or contact +39 0552768224/ +39 0552768558

How did you book your ticket?

I was unable to book the Secret Passages Tour because the time I needed on the only day I was available was booked. I suggest booking early for sure. I booked through https://www.getyourguide.com. The official site was sold out for what I needed. I believe the tour takes 2 hours.

I've been trying not to over book activities for our trip but really believe I'd like to do this. It appears too early to book at this point but I'll keep an eye out and book ahead of time, thanks.

Can someone please point me to the official site to book the Palazzo Vecchio secret passage tour? I am seeing a lot offered and don't want to be suckered into purchasing from a re-seller.

Thanks Kathy! Sold-out for my dates, wish I knew about this sooner as we usually book tours well ahead of when we go. Any other reputable tour companies we can use?

The Secret Passages tour is sold out everywhere, at least for the time I needed it. They tried to give me a 9:30 am slot on Easter Sunday. I'm watching the Exploding Cart so that was out. I wasn't able to book it so I booked the regular entry with no guide. All guided tours were sold out for when I needed it.

I found the secret passage tour with tour company "weekend in italy" . Has anyone used them before?
