Palazzo Vecchio and Duomo in Florence, Train from Villa

Read the posts on the Firenze Card and Friends of Uffizi and decided to go with the Friends card. Is there another card or way to get to the city museums such as Palazzo Vecchio, or the Duomo with one other pass. Not really looking forward to lines.

Also, will be staying in a Villa half way between Pisa and Florence and will have a rental car. I know parking is a problem in both cities so was wondering if its better to take a local train in or to find a public parking area outside the respective ZTL's. Any help would be appreciated.

Where exactly half way between PI and FI? If you are near a station it might make sense to take a train into town.

We will be staying in Forcoli. Looks like the closest train station is Pontedera. Probably a little closer to Pisa.

Pontedera is a major station and you could use it to visit Florence by train and save yourself the hassle of driving to Florence during commute time. You just need to find out what the parking situation is at the Pontedera station.
