Has anyone stayed in this places in nice B&Bs or small family type hotels?
Any transportation ideas? (Not renting a car).

For Sorrento, I can suggest Palazzo Montefusco Relais; it's the #1 rated B&B on Trip Advisor & for good reason. The location is excellent & the accommodations and staff are wonderful as well. Are you looking to stay in each of the cities you mentioned? I would not stay in Pompeii itself; you can easily visit Pompeii as a day trip from Sorrento if you'll definitely be staying in Sorrento. I don't think I'd stay in Paestum either...you can also visit as a day trip! Have a great trip!
