A gentleman who was in Italy last Fall suggested I check on the status of the restoration of the Greek temples at Paestum. He said two of the temples were shrouded in plastic and scaffolding. Any recent visitors with current status? Thanks!
We went in March. Paestum was one of my favorite stops!! Cute little town, beautiful country side and some really amazing ruins! They were all uncovered, no work was being done on them. While you are there check out the museum, it was really good and they had lots of old greek/roman artifacts. For the whole visit I would estimate between 2 and 2 1/2 hours. Enjoy!!
thanks, Melissa, for the update; plnng to go to Paestum in Oct
I visited Paestum last week, during a 2 week vacation to Italy. There was no construction of any kind. It was truly one of my favorite stops. Enjoy!

I am visiting Italy next week and will split time between Rome and Sorrento. I read that to visit Paestum from Sorrento, you take the bus to Salerno and then transfer to Paestum. It sounds like this may take 3 to 4 hours. Can anyone confirm this and is there a better way?. Thanks.
We stayed in Sorrento and visited Paestum a couple of weeks ago. It was great. The site was beautiful, no scaffolding and there were no crowds. We got to Paestum by going to the Pompei Scavi train station, then walking to the Pompei city train station (about 10-15 mins). At first we weren't sure what direction to head, but the info desk at the the Pompei site was helpful and gave us a map. It was just over an hour to Paestum by train and you arrive about a five minute walk away.
