Hi! We'll be staying in Padua while we visit Venice. We have a VERY early (6AM) flight out and are concerned about getting to the airport at that time. Does anyone know if Trains, Bus, Uber etc. can get us to the airport in time? We can change our plans slightly to stay close to the airport the last night but same questions apply.
Best option is a Taxi, they are available 24/7. The taxi fare is 80€ from Padova to VCE airport.
Also there are many private car services (just google NCC, or NOLEGGIO CON CONDUCENTE, from Padova a Venezia aeroporto. The NCC is the Italian formal category designation for Limousine/private car service.
Uber in Italy is not allowed, except for the UberBlack service, which is a black limo service that can be operated only by drivers with a NCC license. They are generally more expensive than regular taxis and I'm not sure if UberBlack operates in Padova.
You need to be at the airport at least 1 hr prior to departure for a intra EU flight. 1h 15 min is probably better (less stressful).
There is also the trains to Venezia Mestre and a taxi or bus from there, or also a direct bus from Padova to the airport with FSBusitalia which operates a shuttle bus, but neither option will get you to the airport on time. The first train gets to VE Mestre at 5:08 and then you need another at least 10min on a taxi. The shuttle bus I think starts even later.
For early flights out of VCE we've stayed at Agriturismo Ca Beatrice several times http://www.tripadvisor.com/Hotel_Review-g776968-d2459519-Reviews-Agriturismo_Ca_Beatrice-Favaro_Veneto_Mestre_Veneto.html
It is only 5 minutes from VCE and they have a shuttle service that will take you for your early morning departure. Very helpful staff and beautiful rooms. They also have an excellent restaurant on-site.
