Padova luggage storage/Scrovengi Chapel

I'll be passing through Padova on the way to Venice and I'd like to see the Scrovengi Chapel. According the latest edtion of Rick's book the luggage check is only open until 6pm (2009 edition is was until 9:30 I believe). This causes two issues 1) I'll be going through the area after 6pm and 2) yes I can visit on the way back from Venice but you get "double time" after 7pm (so at worst I'll see it on the way back). Question: is there a self-storage luggage check at the train station or nearby. Trust me, I've gone through the tourist office who told me the museum next door will hold you luggage- but then when I wrote the museum to confirm they said they only hold small luggage (like a backpack). As many people have discovered dealing with some italian tourist sites is very difficult. Any advice --other than don't miss the Chapel! Thanks Mike

Steve, are the lockers "self-storage"-- drop some euros in, get a key and then get your luggage when you want? Thanks for the reply. Mike
