Packing question different climates

Hi
We are on a lengthy trip and not sure what to pack to accommodate the different weather.
We are in southern England starting early September and going to Malta, Sicily, Southern Italy and finishing up in Venice end of October. I want to pack light but am struggling.

Any suggestions appreciated!

What is your goal, carryon only? Try thinking in terms of what you need between laundry days. I don’t think there will be a dramatic temp difference, as England should be fairly mild in September and in Italy it will just be starting to turn.

I doubt that the weather will be substantially different between any of these places in the time frame given. Plan for mild weather, with a couple of layering pieces, and a water resistant/windproof layer.

What CJean says. Your wind/water shell jacket and fleece pullover are all you need to layer in any of those climates and weather conditions. And you're not going to the jungles of Macadamia. There are lots of places that sell stuff along the way if you need/want something.
