overnight train from venice to rome

We are taking an overnight train from venice to rome on our last night in italy. Are the over nights trains regular or do they cancel them often? Our flight leaves rome around 10:30 am. is that enough time to get to rome and go to the airport?
Thanks,

A regular day trip to Rome from Venice takes 4.5hrs. The night trains appear to leave at 00:04am and 03:11am. These trains take 7.0hrs and 6.0hrs respectively. There is one that leaves at 20:10 that changes trains in Bologna. There is a 2:40hr minute layover between 22:04 and 00:44. The entire journey takes almost 9:0hrs.

They don't cancel trains like they sometimes do planes. You're OK there. But, you need to be at the Rome FCO about 2hrs before your flight to get checked in and through security.

Just a hint. The 00:04 train gets you into Rome at 7:00am. That's close. If you take the 03:11 train, you won't make it to the airport in time. Next hint. The first Leonardo express out of Rome Termini doesn't start until 5:50am. So if you get to Rome Termini in the middle of the night, you have to stay in the terminal or taxi to the airport.

IMHO, you should exit Venice earlier in the day and get into Rome early in the evening.

I agree with Larry. Spend your last night in Rome and avoid fretting over connections. Ending your vacation with stress is not the way to go.

did anyone mention strikes? you don't want to get caught in a train strike and miss your flight
