Overnight stay in Cinque Terre

I'll be heading out to CT from Milan on the 28th of Sept, planning to stay in Manarola. The next morning, I will take a train to Rome. First of all, is this trip feasible at all? (or would I be better of, say, if I took a train from Milan to Florence stay overnight and take a train to Rome the next day?). If feasible, then I'd love to hear your recommendations with regards to accommodation, dining and train access between Milan, CT and Rome. Thanks

Staying just a night in CT or Florence without doing anything else there is almost a travel faux-pas but I understand if you don't have the time. CT is like the Riviera or Amalfi Coast ... you really need a few days there to enjoy it and see everything. ALSO a stop in CT means changing trains and getting on a regional train from the main train. If you're looking for easy - stay on the main train and stop in Florence. CT is so beautiful, you'll get there and wish you could stay longer. Hope this helps.

Hi Murat. The CT trip is feasible if you are OK with a long time on the train. Train time Milan to Manarola to Rome is about 8 hours total; Milan to Florence to Rome is 3 to 4 hours total. For train schedules see trenitalia.com. Enjoy your trip!
